Locked (The Alpha Group, #1) by Maya Cross (Read on 4/8/13)

I really enjoyed this book. It was one of those ones that I read on a whim. From the very beginning with the mysterious back room in a bar and goings on that were questionable I wanted to see what would happen next. As the book progressed it got really hot and the plot began to thicken. Oh man… May feels so far away. I wanna see what happens next… Not too short, not too long, steamy, and an interesting plot thus far. Read it!

Release Me

Release Me (Stark Trilogy #1) by J. Kenner (read on 4/9/13)

Damien Stark…. *sigh* Not since Christian Grey has a man been so moving. Just the idea of his dual colored eyes makes me feel all tingly. If you’ve read this one I am sure you will agree that never has the thought of riding in a limo been as hot as after reading that scene in this book. Nikki is complicated/conflicted and a real sweetheart. I did not find myself getting annoyed with her one bit. Her back story was pretty heart breaking and the decisions that she made and her fears appeared to be completely appropriate given what she has been through. I won’t say much more because I don’t want to give anything away but prepare yourself with a cold bottle of water and enjoy the warm and fuzzy tingly sensations that you will no doubt experience when reading this book. Mr. Stark can definitely hang with Christian Grey, Mr. Cavendish, Gideon and the like!!!!

Disastrous (Disastrous, #1) by E.L. Montes (Read 4/4/13)

When I first started reading this book I had some really high hopes. In the beginning it was really drawing me in and I liked the characters quite a bit. The lead female was not completely broken down and poor and in a situation where she was completely wowed and awestruck by the wealth and power around her while dating this uber hot millionaire. As time started to go on though I found the book really dragging in some places and I started to get really annoyed by Mia. I also found myself putting together some of the more intricate plot twists early on in the story and I don’t like when that happens because I get pretty bored. I still haven’t decided if I am going to read the follow up to this book, but if I do it won’t be at the top of my tbr list at all. From all of the rave reviews that I read regarding this book and the strong start of it I am really sad to say that overall it was just okay… but that is the truth of it.

Real by Katy Evans (read on 4/10/13)

“Why’d you want to have sex with me? To have a f*cking adventure? What was I supposed to be? Your one-night-f*cking stand? I’m every woman’s adventure, damn you, and I don’t want to be yours. I want to be your f*cking REAL. You get that? If I f*ck you, I want you to belong to me. To be mine. I want you to give yourself to me—not Riptide!” ~Katy Evans, REAL

Remington Riptide Tate is everything that you have heard and more. This is one of those books that came out of nowhere and just blew everyone’s fucking minds and ovaries away! I have no words yet to truly describe the amount of awesome this book is. It was hot, it was heart breaking, it was raw, it was funny, and passionate, it was exactly like the title reads; REAL. I absolutely needed more stars for this book.

I don’t like to give away too much in a review because I feel like you can read this read other reviews check out the blurb and decide for yourself. I can absolutely say without a shadow of a doubt that 9 out of 10 people who love these types of books and this genre will LOVE this book. Remy doesn’t say much but what he does say makes you sit up and pay attention. He’s guarded and raw, and a pure freaking animal in and out of the bedroom. If you want to talk about an Alpha male with a heart of gold this is the guy! He is all man, unapologetic, and REAL about it but Katy Evans found a wonderful balance with him. Brooke is also a wonderful character. I really enjoyed her and all of the supporting characters for that matter. Add in the underground fighting aspect, lots of communication through music and you have a stellar book. The fact that Katy Evans keeps the reader in a state of heightened frenzied arousal for almost 50% of the book before the characters get to the hot stuff is an amazing representation of the talent of this author. You will be pacing the floors and climbing the walls when you get to it but once you do it is so primal and hot that you will not be disappointed. I really cannot say enough about this book. I am so ready for the sequels. This is definitely in my top ten list for this year.

Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan (Read on 4/11/13)

I’m not sure how I ended up reading this entire book, in the span of 4 or 5 hours but I did! It definitely had some complicated characters and situations. Challenged some of the standard “morals/values” that some people may have as well. It was believable for that environment though. I enjoyed this one greatly, especially Sheehans colorful usage of the word “bitch” and the crazy amount of testosterone that should have been off putting but was just really hot, especially if Deuce was involved. I also enjoyed how this story spanned through a great deal of years before you get to the conclusion. I am very much interested in reading the next books in this series.

Reaper’s Property

Reaper’s Property (Reapers MC, #1) by Joanna Wylde (Read on 4/13/13)

Honestly, I just liked this book. If I had to do it again. I definitely would not have paid $7 for it. I just figure that I have read a great deal of 5+ star books that were 3.99 or less so it evens out in the long run.

Don’t get me wrong I liked the book. I liked the story and could understand the desire to want to help and do right for your family. It had a great deal of believable situations that you would expect to see in that world, the writing was done well. I think though especially if you have already read something like Madeline Sheehan’s Undeniable it’s difficult to not find this book a bit lacking. I liked Horse but I just didn’t find him to be massively hot. As stated it was a good book. I would still recommend it, I would just probably suggest waiting to see if the price goes down first and putting it a little further down on the tbr list.

Seducing Cinderella

Seducing Cinderella (Fighting For Love)  by Gina L. Maxwell (Read on 4/16/13)

Reid Andrews… YUMMY!!! That’s all I can say. I will say more though, lol. This was a really sweet book. It did have your typical lead female who had questionable self-esteem and was completely unaware of her power and who she is as a woman. I have a love hate relationship with books like this. In some ways it’s very true that the attentions from a strong, protective, super hot man will definitely have a positive affect on the way you view yourself… but also it would be great to see a story where the female already knows she is not chopped liver before the makeover and sex-on-a-stick walks into her life. With that said this books rain scene and the scene in front of the mirror were jaw dropping wonderful! Another highlight of the story was Reid being a fighter in recovery which gave us another side of that life. I really enjoyed the story and it was a quick read. It didn’t drag and had just enough heat and a good plot.

Evanescent by Addison Moore (Read on 4/19/13)

This is the second book in The Countenance Trilogy which is a spinoff/prequel to the Celestra Series. If you haven’t read the Celestra Series you can still read this trilogy but I would definitely read the Celestra Series if I were you. Addison Moore is one of my most favorite authors. Her writing style and attention to detail in my humble opinion is stellar!!! I often have said that I compare her writing style to poetry it’s like reading Shakespeare. LOL! She has a way of saying everything but not saying anything if she wants to while avoiding those drags that some books experience while keeping you in a state of anticipation to see what is going to happen. At the end of this book I feel truly torn for Laken. She is about to have a HUGE decision on her hands and I don’t even know what I want her to decide and I am also so very curious to see how her story ties into the Celestra Series as well. Some of the things we learned in this book have me on the edge of my seat in anticipation to see how Addison is going to wrap this one up.

Suicide Note

Suicide Note by Teresa Mummert (Read on 4/25/13)

This book gut punches you straight from the beginning. I appreciate an author that isn’t afraid to make you really uncomfortable and really feel for the characters right from the jump. Jenn’s story especially was difficult to swallow. It made you feel protective of the characters and want them to get their happy ending. There were so many obstacles and worries through out the book but it was balanced with so many “aww” moments as well. I really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet and heartfelt read.

Wicked Cravings

Wicked Cravings (The Phoenix Pack Series) by Suzanne Wright (Read by 4/24/13)

This is the second book in The Phoenix Pack Series and honestly no matter how good it was I am not sure if any book in this series should it continue could touch Feral Sins which is book 1. With that being said holy hotness… Dante was one hot Beta. Jamie was feisty and hilarious yet broken and unsure. Don’t we just love a book where the man protects his woman in a way that allows her autonomy?!?!? 😀 Anyway, I really enjoyed it and noticed I had a smirk on my face while reading most of it. I would read the phone book if Suzanne Wright wrote it and this book was definitely a great addition to all of her other smoking hot great books.
