So many secrets and lies and all kinds of good stuff and very bad stuff went down in this!!! I absolutely loved that they were in NOLA and it made me want to go visit again, sooner rather than later…. I digress though… They both have a history in NOLA and learning about that was very interesting and caused some I KNEW IT moments for me that then caused me to AWWWW and Swoon all over the place. We had the Sidewinder team in this one as well as a great deal of circumstances from their previous lives and personas that come back to bite Ty and Zane in the ASS!!!!

A situation happens in this one where I was so freaking angry at the both of them that I wanted to reach into my Kindle and strangle the shit out of them. Zane took the C-A-K-E… those who have read it know what part I am talking about. I couldn’t even look at him for a little while after that. He was wrong and he knew it.

The ending of this was a mother freaking beast!!!! EPIC SHIT people!!! I just WOW!!!

This was spectacular!!!! I really enjoyed getting a look into Zane’s life more so. We usually get plenty of info. on Ty and because of circumstances we usually don’t get that same picture for Zane. I wanted to throttle his Mom, and his Dad was such a great man. The epic battle scene/shoot out in this one was crazy good! I enjoyed the Western theme we got this time around. I also enjoyed how the scenes when these two burn up the sheets just get hotter, and hotter, and hotter!!! That entire interaction on the couch was hands down one of my most favorite!!! I loved how take charge Zane was in this one it was just amazing. Everyone has definitely been right about this series it just keeps getting better and better. I really loved the cats in this one too! 😀

Holy Smokes! I don’t even know where to begin on this one. This is probably one of my favorite installments. Not only did I get to love Ty and Zane, but Cameron and Julian were there and that delish Preston as well!!!! (He needs a book, a short, or something, IJS!) Again, character development was off the meat rack. I just love how even in the parts of the series I don’t absolutely head over heels love they always grow and change and develop. The plot to this one had so many twists and turns and I wasn’t sure which way was up and which way was down for a good while there. By the end of it all I was just on the edge of my seat ready to find out what was going to happen next. We learned some important things about Ty in this one as well and my heart hurt for him immensely!!! Gosh! I just LOVED IT completely!!!!!

The character development will always be the first thing that I point out when discussing the Cut & Run series. It’s not just about watching their relationship change and grow. I didn’t LOVE this one as much as some others but it definitely had it’s highlights. I was really proud of Ty and his candidness with his boys. They obviously represent such a huge part of his life and him putting himself out there in that way was amazing to watch… I know a lot of people were really upset with Nick in this one but I got it, and I wasn’t worried about what the outcome would be. I really love how Ty demonstrates how well he knows Zane in this one and his faith in him is extremely AWWWW inducing. On to the next…

I don’t even know where to begin with this awesomeness!!! In this installment Ty & Zane find themselves stuck on a cruise ship as an out and married couple. As you can imagine this led to some wonderful events.

The case in this one was very interesting and as it went on it was tough to decipher the difference between the good guys and the bad guys.

I absolutely loved how far their relationship was able to grow because of the circumstances and the passionate make you sweat hot and steamy sex was definitely a plus!!!

I really should have started this series sooner!!! I must continue on, I cannot put them down!!!

Review: Sticks & Stones

Sticks & Stones
Sticks & Stones by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I think I liked the first book a little bit more story wise… but this one was definitely above and beyond when it came to humor.

I loved the progression and the growth in their relationship and that we got to meet Ty’s crazy ass family. Deuce was hilarious and a real cool guy. Grandpa of course with his shovel had me dying laughing. I totally expected Ty’s Mom to be a badass and she did not disappoint. Earl pissed me off at times but even he was a great character.

The best parts were the cat related comments, my personal favorite “meow-mix”. HAHAHA! Of course the shovel and the fight with the garden hose was a great one. Also, Ty & Zane’s stolen moments were really wonderful. That scene in Ty’s old bedroom was on fire!!!!!!

Gosh, I am on to the next one now… I’m really excited to see where this one goes based off of the preview at the back of the book. It should be humorous but also a great chance to see them as more of a couple, I hope.

Review: Cut & Run

Cut & Run
Cut & Run by Madeleine Urban
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Overall rating: 4.5 Stars

So I know this book is on the top favorites for a great deal of people and it’s also a first M/M read for a great deal of others. I absolutely see why! It was not my first M/M but it is now definitely one of my most favorite…

What I didn’t like so much…

There isn’t much but there relationship was a “tad” bit abusive at times. I thought it was believable for their characters since they were pretty messed up… but sometimes it was a little weird how they could be fighting physically or verbally and then just move on. They also talked a lot about how they weren’t good at talking… but when they took the time to talk they did a very good job of it. There were some little things in the writing style and plot wise that bothered me — such as them always being in situations where one of them was half way blown or beat to pieces — but nothing so much so that I felt the need to knock it down a full star or anything.

What I LOVED….

Okay there is a lot here so let me try to organize my thoughts so I don’t miss anything.

(1) I loved how tender and caring and loving they could be towards each other. They would voice their fears about going there and then they would do it anyway though. It was different than what I usually see in M/M books. Sometimes I think authors try a little too hard to attempt to maintain the masculinity and completely forget that men can be and are nurturing and loving creatures as well as hot as balls bad asses. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

(2) I really, REALLY, enjoyed the case that they were investigating. My theory was so right but I didn’t figure it out too early where I would have been disappointed and for me that is huge!!! I’m always the person that is watching a show or seeing a movie and knows who did it almost right away… so when it takes me awhile I really love it! It was also creative and really reminded me of watching Luther, Wire In The Blood, Whitechapel, or Touching Evil… in the sense that it was pretty detailed, gruesome, and some massively sick shit at times. All things I LOVE in a crime drama.

(3) I loved the literal movement in the book!!! These guys did not sit still during an intense conversation. I loved how the authors were able to keep them moving and talking and make it seem so effortless. I have read a few books recently where the author is so busy describing or explaining what is happening that I find myself rolling my eyes at the description as if I’m so inept I cannot decipher what is going on… but I digress. That was definitely not an issue in this book.

(4) I loved the lack of labels. That’s pretty self explanatory.

(5) The banter!!! I laughed so long and so hard while reading this one it just was great!

(6) The focus was definitely on the relationship, the characters, and the case, but when the sex did happen it was SUPER hot!!! That one scene while the phone was ringing, I was laughing and fanning myself!!!

There you have it! I will definitely continue to read this series and I’m so glad I loved it as much as some others and wasn’t in the minority this time around.
